The UPLB campus in Los Baños sits on the site of one of the bloodiest episodes of the war in Laguna, and its students attach specific accounts to specific places — Baker Hall and Narra Bridge above all. This is a campus where the folklore has documented history under it.

The history under the campus
Los Baños saw severe wartime violence, including a massacre of civilians in the area during the Second World War, with deaths running into the thousands across the locality. The university grounds and the structures on them are tied to that period.
Baker Hall, the campus gymnasium, and Narra Bridge are the two locations students most consistently name. The historical events are documented; which specific building held what is where folklore takes over.
What students say happens
The accounts are seasonal and sensory rather than visual: a smell in the gym when it rains, soldiers said to follow people across the bridge after dark. They are handed down between batches and tied to walking routes everyone uses in daylight.
