Clark Airbase Hospital

Clark operated as a major American military installation for most of the twentieth century, and its hospital handled casualties and illness across that period. After the base was vacated the hospital was left unused and progressively stripped.

An abandoned hospital is a particular kind of ruin. The layout still reads as what it was — wards, corridors, treatment rooms — long after everything portable has gone.

Accounts describe footsteps along the ward corridors, voices, and the sense of someone present in rooms that are plainly empty. The building has become a standard stop for people who go looking for that sort of thing.
